I'd been wanting to check out Sonic and Mario at the Olympic Games for quite some time now.  And now that I have it on my DS Lite, I was curious to see whether they were competing at just at some generic Olympics, or whether Nintendo had been accurate by including the real Beijing Olympic venues.

Having played Sonic and Mario a few times over the last week, I have to say it's a pretty neato little game. And yes, it turns out that the many of the backgrounds in the game are, indeed, the wacky buildings that Beijing has constructed for the upcoming games.

So me and Alex headed out to the CISIS conference here in Dalian this morning, which was billed as a forum for software innovation, outsourcing, IT talent, venture capital, and industry application. I was a little disappointed with the show overall, as the majority of the companies on hand were primarily involved with outsourcing. And while that may be a barrel of laughs for some, it's just not my bag.

I just got back into China yesterday after two quick stops at New York and Tokyo. New York was, in all honesty, too brief to be all that memorable and was more or less a blur of yellow cabs, skyscrapers, and hot dogs. My stop in Tokyo was a little more leisurely, with ample time set aside for shopping and visiting friends with my significant other, Rika.

Yes, I'm finally taking some "me" time.

But it comes, as always, at a price. I have to take the longest plane ride ever! From Dalian, China, to Tokyo, to New York, to the far right-hand side of Canada, Newfoundland. If anyone can think of a longer plane ride than that, I'll buy 'em a drink!
