Reports are coming in that Feedburner was blocked temporarily overnight here in China, causing thousands of anxious bloggers (myself included) to check it out with their own two eyes. Could it be true? Much to everyone's relief, the outage seems to have been temporary, and Feedburner looks to be back in Sino-business. But at the same time, we can't help but ponder that horrible question:

If the only Chinese artists you were exposed to were the ones who were regularly on television, you'd be sorely missing out. Yes, yes, I know. You're probably all sick to death of hearing about fake Chinese this and tainted Chinese that--I know I am. Scanning headlines these days, I have to admit I find myself skipping over headlines like "Will you still buy toys made in China?" or "Fake Icewines hit sales".

These days, there are some who go so far as to say that the 2008 Olympics are the biggest Chinese fake of all. But that's another story.

Haruki Murakami is my all-time favoritest writer. No one else comes close.

I even joined a Facebook fan group called Haruki Murakami is (almost) god a while back. The Japanese novelist is among the best and most popular writers not only in Japan, but indeed the whole world. He even has a following here in China.
