E10, E20, E85! What is going on here?!?
Jul 23, 2008 21:56
As if choosing a car wasn't hard enough, the Thai Government and PTT have to go and plan all these fuel transitions, which they want to happen in a decade. The problem with such an ambitious plan is that in this country, it's not uncommon to see cars that are 15+ years old still on the road. It's understandable that they need to move to ethanol from pure benzene, but really, is it necessary to make the public go through three different mixtures, and possibly three different vehicles, just to get to where they think we should be?

Thailand, home of the geek champions
Jul 23, 2008 11:03
Ok, a geek is not a nerd, let me make that clear. A nerd is someone who is quite brilliant but lacks some of the basic social skills which making him or her a social outcast. Not all brilliant people are nerds. Some of my "popular" and jock friends actually maintained a 3.5+ GPA but were never called nerds. Traditionally, geeks are people who are usually so into something, say, Battle Star Galactica (BSG), Star Trek, or anything else not so mainstream, sometimes to the point where they live out that love of theirs where they are just too plain weird to fit in with the crowd.

My Pwnage 2.0 experience--Part 3. The force is strong in this one
Jul 21, 2008 10:51
After spending a full day enjoying the entertainment side of the 2.0 software through apps and games from Apple's store, I had a chance to put the iPhone through its paces in a business environment today. All I can say is that Windows Mobile had better pull nothing short of an 80ft rabbit out of its hat when it sets loose WM7.
With contacts getting search capability, Exchange syncing, and a myriad of other improvements, Apple is set to invade the business world with this new firmware. Yes, it still lacks the basic cut, copy and paste, but the simplicity which is Apple's interface and software makes day-to-day use of this device much more enjoyable, if not more productive, as you do not need to "dive into" settings and menu items to get a task done.

My Pwnage 2.0 experience--Part 2. Every SNAFU has a silver lining (update: 2.0.1 tool available now)
Jul 20, 2008 21:09
As with learning anything new, this Pwnage process has a learning curve, albeit not a steep one. Sure, it was no different than, say, updating your HP iPaq to the latest firmware, and no riskier, either. I ran into some confusion as to which file I had to download, where to put things, etc... but after reading the guidelines for the 20th time, I figured I had a better (and easier way) to get this to work. Well, easier for me at least, and not have to bother locating the right firmware version on the Internet.

My Pwnage 2.0 experience--Part 1. The drama of the downloads
Jul 20, 2008 11:15
It was a surprise waking up this morning to two new posts on the iPhone Dev Team's blog.. I hurriedly jumped out of bed and am now downloading the app. The Dev team is not posting any step-by-step instruction (recovering from a week of hacking and coding no doubt) but you can head over here to see how its done.
