QQeStore: A homegrown e-biz success story!
Posted by AnakBrunei
Nicky and his baby
Started last year by a young local entrepreneur, Nicky Wong, QQeStore has grown to become the de facto source of tech equipment for the local "gearhead" community. It currently offers about 5,000 products online and the list is constantly growing.
Its modus operandi is deadly simple. Browse the online store, choose your products and payment option, confirm your order, make payment, and a few days later, you're a happy camper! QQeStore's turnaround time is pretty fast (generally five to seven working days), considering it hardly keep any items in stock.
So what is it that makes QQeStore such a success? To me, it's a combination of factors. I've met Nicky and he is a really "switched-on" chap in terms of tech, plus he has the business acumen to go with it. With a programming background, he also knows how to translate his retail vision into an online reality (Get it? Hehe, ok, maybe not).

The QQeStore Customer Center
The product range at QQeStore is nothing short of astounding. This has been unheard of in Brunei until now! Even more amazing is the fact that you can pre-order products that have not even hit the market, like the Apple iPhone, for instance.
Next, is the fact that the prices at QQeStore are adjusted very quickly to meet or beat competitors' pricing. This is made possible through its "price-match" guarantee which has cause some customers to start alerting the store via email on lower prices being offered for the same product elsewhere! Now that's what I call leverage!
Recently, QQeStore started an affiliate program much like Amazon, where bloggers like me can sign up and offer its products for sale on my site in exchange for a commission. So far, over 10,000 Brunei dollars worth of sales has been generated from my site alone!
I think Nicky and his team at QQeStore are redefining the retail market in Brunei with their innovative concept and their dedication to providing excellent customer service that's coupled with the latest products, and a reasonable markup which they are able to offer due to their low overheads and efficient supply chain.
I say more power to them and I hope other local retailers will see the value-proposition and jump on the online bandwagon or at least consider it as an additional distribution channel!

Wow! This is what I always dream of www.suzz.com to become. Multi million dollar e-store in SG.
Anyway, great write up, Reeda. But it seems QQeStore only delivers to Brunei. I had thought of signing up as an affliate but it won't be fair to my major customers in SG. Hope they start to deliver to other countries soon. :-)

In addition to perfecting their local business model, Nicky and his team are working very hard to offer their services abroad. Hopefully this will be soon.
