LG X140 Netbook comes with Smart POP

One annoying thing about most Netbooks, even the recent Pine Trail models, is the screen resolution. With only a 600-pixel height, most Web sites require quite a bit of scrolling. The latest LG X140 not only alleviates this issue by offering a HD-ready 10.1-inch (1,366 x 768) display, it also comes with an anti-glare layer that makes it easier to use outdoors. However, the LCD is not its only party trick.

The new X140 Netbook sports LG's new Smart POP utility. This application makes several functions a breeze. These include file transfers to/from PC and mobile phones, voice call and SMS with mobile broadband connection (with HSDPA-enabled models) and Outlook sync to transfer between the Netbook and handphones. Another useful feature is the Smart On 2.0 which allows the user to quickly access the Internet via a pre-boot interface without having to wait for Windows to startup.

The LG X140 comes in white, pink and black and costs around US$500. We are still awaiting details on when this Netbook will hit Asia markets.
