LG has unveiled its first LTE tablet in Korea, an 8.9-inch slate with an HD (1,280 x 720) IPS display.

Unlike its 3D-capable predecessor, the Optimus Pad, the LTE model has only a single rear-facing 8-megapixel camera, along with its 2-megapixel front camera. The Optimus Pad LTE also contains 32GB of storage, but is upgradeable to 64GB through a micro-SD card slot.

Sadly, it's not Ice Cream Sandwich-powered but runs on the Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS instead.

Other noteworthy specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor and HDMI support.

The Optimus Pad LTE will be launched in Korea first, but there have been no official announcements for the rest of the world. We're not holding our breath though: Seeing that telcos in most Asian countries are not yet LTE-ready, the tablet--as with the Optimus LTE smartphone--may not make its way here.
