During the local launch of the IdeaPad Y450 and Y650, the Lenovo also announced the immediate availability of its latest all-in-one desktop, the IdeaCentre A600.
Starting at S$2,199 (US$1,766.83), this machine is based on the laptop Intel chipset which means it comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth built-in. The 21.5-inch full-HD display has a 16:9 aspect ratio, which means a bigger viewing area for widescreen movies. The slot-in DVD writer can be replaced with a Blu-ray combo drive as well, while the integrated Intel GMA X4500 graphics processor can be upgrade to a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 GPU.
However, the real selling point of this machine lies with the optional remote control. Not only does it function as a normal remote for the built-in Windows Media Center, this device can also double as a VoIP headset. That's not all. Thanks to an integrated accelerometer, this peripheral can be used as an air mouse (where the cursor movement follows the remote). In addition, it allows the user to play Wii-style games, too.
The IdeaCentre A600 is now in stores, while the IdeaPad laptops will hit Asia retail shelves from end-April.
