HTC Tattoo priced in Asia
The HTC Tattoo is the manufacturer's entry-level Android smartphone first announced in September. Most of its specifications aren't groundbreaking, the most interesting being its budget-oriented resistive QVGA display--still quite unusual for an Android device as the majority feature capacitive HVGA screens. Capacitive touchscreens require fingertip contact while resistive ones require a more precise pressure point and are usually used with styli. If you want to draw a comparison, think of it as a smartphone very similar to the HTC Touch2 (our recent review here) equipped with Google's mobile operating system instead of Windows Mobile 6.5.
Today, the company announced the Tattoo's commercial availability in Singapore. This weekend, you will be able to buy it at S$598. The handset will come in silver at retail outlets and exclusively in black from Singapore operator M1 on the-island state.
