Thought we'd forgotten all about Kitty-chan, did you? Not a whisker of a chance. Japan's renowned export is back in fine form, this time with her own feline-themed tipple. At 35 going on 36, she's certainly above the legal age to pop the cork. And it's not the first time the cat's imbibed hard liquer, having had her first rice sake along with her first beer even before this.

Originally conceived by Camomilla S.p.A., a fashion house in Italy with a pedicured paw in the Sanrio franchise, the Hello Kitty Wines are anything but candy pink dross, being harvested from the Lombardy vineyards of boutique Italian winery Torti Tenimenti Castelrotto.

For connoisseurs, the collection currently comprises a Hello Kitty Sparkling Brut Rosé, a Hello Kitty Sparkling "Sweet Pink" (Half Size), a 2008 Hello Kitty Angel White, and a 2006 Hello Kitty Devil Red. Prices range from US$19.99 to US$29.99. All four bottles will (of course) sport pink foiled corks, pink labels and a Kitty charm, with the tagline stating that "our favorite girl has grown up". Meow to that!
