Gaming in a half dome

One of the buzzwords in entertainment is immersion. From 16:9 aspect ratio screens to curved displays, hardware makers have been trying to fill as much of your vision to bring you into the digital world.

A small US company, T.O.O.B., takes home entertainment to another level with its unique inflatable dome-shaped screen. When you stick a home projector from the outside of the half dome, a mirror in the middle reflects movies and games to encompass the inside of the screen. This allows the user to completely fill his vision and gives a new dimension to multimedia entertainment. The internal dimensions are 0.9m deep and 1.8m across.

The T.O.O.B. dome screen is not cheap at US$1,440 (inclusive of international delivery), but it is much more affordable than a huge 50-inch plasma TV or curved LCD panel. You can check out more details here.
