Fujitsu has always been a premium brand. Even its Atom-based Netbooks are one of the costliest in the market, with the LifeBook MH380 and M2010 carrying price tags of S$1,088 (US$874.18) and S$888 (US$713.48), respectively. The Japanese maker justifies the added cost by dressing these machines in a hardy metal chassis. But for those willing to forego the tougher body, the latest addition to the family, the LifeBook MH330, deserves a closer look.
By using a plastic body, Fujitsu managed to drive the cost of the MH330 to S$699 (US$561.63), making it on par with other Pine Trail-based Netbooks in the market. Weighing a light 1.1kg, the rounded design is attractive and, surprisingly, sports a spill-resistant keyboard. The DVD Sharing application allows the optical drive-less Netbook to access the DVD drive on your PC.
The main drawback is that we do not expect spectacular battery life from its three-cell pack. A pity since excellent uptimes are important for minilaptops.
