Fake memory cards demystified

Buy fake goods is just like stealing!

This is real tricky because some looks exactly the same and some stores which sell it often give the same price as of the original one.

There are good imitations and bad imitations in the same manner that not all original items are good. The differentiating factors could be warranty, after-sale service, etc. If all other factors being equal or almost equal, I'd go for the imitation, especially if the price of the original is double or triple that of the imitation, there's no guarantee that the life span or speed is double or triple also.

I was extremely surprised when I saw fake memory cards having the exact same packaging, hologram stickers, different serial # and touch and feel of the real ones. I began to wonder whether they weren't fake after all because it has the appropriate memory capacity as it claims to have. Maybe it was smuggled that's why it costs so little compared to ones bought in the outlet stores in malls. I bought one I'm trying it out as much as I can if it will get corrupted suddenly but so far it works good. It really confuses me if it's real or not cause it was so cheap.

Just to correct the Packaging part of this article, fake ones have hologram stickers as well. And for Labels, fake ones have serial numbers as well. And for Presentation, fake ones fit in just fine in the slots. They work, maybe less efficiently, and break down soon afterwards, or data get corrupted (and lost, of course). That's how good fake ones are doing nowadays. Call them fake imitation.

Do you think the fake manufacturers will pump in any of their profits into research and development to produce newer and better products? Use original. :)

maybe not. I rather use the original one rather than the fake. It might cost double than the fake one but will work efficiently as expected.

i think fakes r working just as well....believe me..real r xpensive cos we pay 4 their advertising....
