Shenandoah solitaire is an easier version of the Virginia Reel solitaire game (also known as Cavalcade). Shenandoah is a game since wastepile cards can fill a space in the tableau where they cannot fill a space in Virginia Reel. The foundation cards of rank 2, 3, or 4 are marked with yellow so the player can readily identify them. Aces are marked with blue. All cards that can go on foundations are marked with a light blue colored square. Wastepile cards that can be used to pick up cards in the tableau are when they are built on the tableau and thereby make spaces are marked by a dark blue colored square. If a card on the wastepiles covers a card that could be used to build it on the tableau, the column is labeled as blocked. The number of spaces that can be created in the tableau at a given time is shown for the player's convenience. Shenandoah can be won about half the time after extensive practice.
