Samsung's widget-like interface or HTC's TouchFLO 3D? Both of them seem to want Windows Mobile to take a back seat. With so many similar features on these two devices, it's really not about the hardware specifications alone anymore.

This year seems to be the year of WM mobile, I regret making my cruise purchase earlier this year with whats available june/july. Should've waited another 3 months. Excited to see how fast i900 will be (for my wallet's sake though, I hope its a let down somehow).

No problem johnchan. By the way, do any one of you guys know how much Samsung Omnia will retail here in Asia? I suppose Samsung Omnia is much better than HTC Touch Diamond featurewise.

Omnia is the choice .. but HTC is still fighting strong.. first few day of launch ,. all sold out.. guess its base is already solid.. hopefull =y Omnia got something to fight for beside its big screen..

Samsung is the best but it's so late I bought already a HTC touch diamond, I can change?

Omnia seems like a strong competitor, but for now it's all on paper. It'll be interesting to see how all these 'giants' fare, when all the competitors are in the ring, ie, including the 3G iPhone. I'm looking for one of these, but I'll hold my horses.

I'm waiting for more users of Omnia to give their personal feedback. I've just scratched HTC Diamond. So, it's down to Omnia and iPhone.

Hey,

You can actually try out the actual phone in Samsung @ Vivo City!

Update: I've got my Omnia at $468 from Singtel. Pity, it does not come with a manual. As a 1st time WM user, still struggling with the OS.

I did get to try the Omnia briefly at its launch. The drag-and-drop interface aims for cool since it's almost like a PC interface. But one can't help feel it creates that many more steps. The Diamond, on the other hand, feels more intuitive to use because, as one of the chief engineers pointed out, that was the thinking behind developing the TouchFLO 3D interface. Would be interesting to see whether either interface can stand against the iPhone 3G's onslaught when it arrives in Asia.

For sexy look, Diamond beats the Omnia hands down. But it also attracts finger prints and stains like honey attract bees.

For screen real estate, it gotta be Omnia.

Although Omnia's Widget is cool to use, Diamond's Today screen is more functional as it shows you your Today's Appointment(s), tasks, etc. Unless one switches back to the Today's screen view in Omnia, the Widget screen is not really informative for business purposes.

For now, it's Omnia for me!

I looked at both while I was in Singapore last weekend.

Omnia gave me the "I want it now feeling" whereas the Diamond was nice to hold and nice to touch but i kept thinking "Omnia is same size as iPhone but so much more storage.....". Also, for me, the Diamond interface, though nice, did feel slow even with nothing loaded.

Unfortunately, I was unable to buy an Omnia straight away as it was only a soft opening but am looking forward to grabbing one real soon....

its funny how the 'omina' is gathering mixed reactions from user reviews now. for those who still doubts the coolnes of the iphone, just continue to wet your appetite before its asian release by wrangling around these two WM devices.

For those who are still not aware, the user manual for samsung SGH-i900 is now available on the samsung website. You can go there and dowload a softcopy!

The Omnia easily wins this with a better camera and very fun user interface

Diamond is cool but the lack of external memory slot is a big letdown. I'll take more memory over appearance, anytime.
