Is plasma HDTV size or quality more important?

Dec 22, 2009

Question on Home Entertainment:

I will be buying a Panasonic Viera plasma HDTV but I need help in deciding between the 42G10 and 50S10 models.

Here's my dilemma: I would like to have a big-screen TV, but if the 42G10 gives better image quality than the 50S10, I may settle for the 42-incher instead. What should I do?

The Viera G-series plasma TV comes with both NeoPDP and Infinite Black technologies which the S-series lacks. NeoPDP provides double power efficiency to reduce electricity consumption, while Infinite Black gives a 33-percent boost in native contrast for better picture quality.

You can refer to the following article for more differences between the two series.

Image specifications aside, a bigger screen will give you a better cinematic experience which may offset a slight variation in picture quality. We suggest dropping by your local electronics stores for some side-by-side comparisons.
