I have a simple question regarding mobile phones. Which company's smartphone is best if I want a user-friendly UI, Internet browsing and wide range of applications?

That is really a very simple question and the answer is the Apple iPhone 3GS. Very few smartphones can match the iPhone in terms of the user interface, Web browsing experience and variety of applications.

There are some things to take note though. The Safari browser on the iPhone doesn't support Flash, so you can't stream, for example, YouTube videos directly from the browser. The iPhone also doesn't support multitasking, so you'll have to close an application and go back to the menu in order to open another one. The list of things we're waiting for on the iPhone is getting shorter with each incarnation, but these are two of our main grouses at the moment.
