When will the Sony Bravia X5500 come to Singapore? Is it advisable to buy the 40Z5500 or should I wait for the X5500 ?

We were informed by Sony that there won't be Bravia X4500-series replacement models for 2009 so we doubt the X5500 will be launched anytime soon. In fact, most online news related to the X5500 are just unofficial rumors.

Assuming these rumors are accurate, we are comparing X5500’s LED-backlit with local dimming technologies with Z5500's conventional CCFL-backlighting. The former will deliver superior dynamic contrast in the multi million:1 range instead of the latter’s 100,000:1 performance. You can expect the X5500 to display deeper blacks with excellent color saturation.
