Are the Panasonic TZ11 and TZ15 digicams good?

Oct 19, 2009

Question on Digicams:

I'm planning to buy a digicam but am a bit confused as I've heard a lot about Sony Cyber-shot but a friend said the Panasonic TZ11 and TZ15 are also good buys. What do you recommend?

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ15 and TZ11 are older models and they are now replaced by the Lumix DMC-TZ7. The closest competitor to the TZ7 is the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20, and there are several differences. The Lumix camera's 25mm wide-angle lens which lets you squeeze more of the scene into the frame, whereas the H20 is widest at only 38mm. The zoom range is slightly different, too, with the TZ7 having 12x optical zoom and the Sony maxes out at 10x.

In this case, the Lumix is a better buy if you want more zoom and a wider-angle lens. But do check our reviews of the cameras first before making a decision.
