Should I buy a Sony H20 or Samsung digicam?

Oct 16, 2009

Question on Digicams:

Which model among these three compact cameras, the Sony DSC-H20, Samsung WB1000 and ST550, offers better functionality, value, picture quality and video-recording support?

The three cameras you've chosen are quite different, so it really depends on your needs to justify whether your future purchase is a worthy "investment".

The Samsung WB1000 offers users 5x optical zoom and a good range of exposure controls such as manual and aperture/shutter priority. The analog gauges on the top also make for a good design.

As for the touchscreen-operated Samsung ST550, it's main highlight is the dual LCDs which are great for taking self portraits. But take note that it has limited exposure functions.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H20 offers shutterbugs 10x optical zoom, which makes this shooter great for frequent travelers.

So before you make a decision, think through what you need the camera most for. From there, I think it will be easier for you to narrow down to the model that suits you best.
