Can my notebook be upgraded to Windows 7 Professional?

Question on PC & Peripherals:

I have Windows Vista in my notebook. Can I upgrade it to Windows 7 Professional in the future?

That depends on your version of Vista. Other than Home Basic and Starter, you can purchase an upgrade pack to Windows 7 that allows you to install over your current setup, thereby preserving your application and files.

However, if you do not mind reinstalling and backing up your current system, you can purchase the full retail pack and install in any machine that meets Windows 7's requirements. Do note that for upgrades, 32-bit versions and 64-bit editions are not compatible and you will need to do a full reinstall.
