Why is Optus getting the iPhone 3GS first?

Jun 30, 2009

Question on Mobile Phones:

Why is Optus in Australia, a SingTel subsidiary, releasing the iPhone 3GS on June 26 while in Singapore where the parent company resides, we don't even have a confirmed release date?

The iPhone 3GS is expected to be available from SingTel in Singapore next month. Exact dates and pricing details have yet to be released. Launch dates in different countries are usually dependant on many factors such as market or supply chain logistics. While we're not able to comment on why certain countries get the iPhone 3GS earlier than the others, we can help you keep track of where and when it will be available here.
