Does the Nokia N97 support BlackBerry Connect?

Jun 25, 2009

Question on Mobile Phones:

My corporate email system which uses Microsoft Exchange doesn't seem to be able to connect through some Nokia phones. What's more, these phones do not seem to support Blackberry Connect anymore.

My question is, does the N97 support Blackberry Connect? Hopefully Microsoft Exchange works on the N97 for my corporate emails.

The BlackBerry Connect is not supported on the Nokia N97. For a list of compatible models, you can refer to this list.

Fret not, because you can still get your emails on the N97 using the Mail for Exchange application. This can be downloaded directly from your device in the Download! folder. Once installed, you can synchronize emails, contacts, calendar and task lists between your office's Microsoft Exchange Server and your handset. You can also access your company's directory using the application.

Damien, that said, some IT departments are yet to welcome Win Mo's connecting to the Exchange server (similar to Blackberry's) due to security concerns! The solution could be to connect to your MS Outlook account on the corporate network via secure internet access. In that case, any phone with GPRS support is good enough.
