Question on Music & Play:

Is it possible to sync AVI and MPEG format movies to a fourth-generation iPod nano? If so, what is the procedure to do so?

Yes, it is possible. However, you will need to convert your AVI files into the MP4/H.264 formats that are compatible with the iPod. You can download free software, such as those that we featured in our article to carry out the conversion on your PC.

In iTunes, ensure that your videos have been added to your Library. As an added measure, you could go to the "Advanced" menu, choose "Convert Selection for iPod". iTunes will create a separate video under the file kind "MPEG-4 video file".

In the device window in iTunes, make sure "Sync movies" is selected under the Movies tab and in the have the videos set to syncable.
