Which Canon Ixus gives better image quality?

Jun 16, 2009

Question on Digicams:

If I want good image quality even at ISO 400, should I get a Canon Ixus 110 IS or Ixus 980 IS?

Both the Canon Digital Ixus 110 IS and the Digital Ixus 980 IS employ the Digic 4 image engine and Canon lenses. So, from a technical standpoint, both shooters will produce the same image quality at ISO 400.

That said, the Ixus 980 IS offers more exposure options such as manual override, so you can tweak the shutter speed and aperture settings to achieve different effects for your shots. On the other hand, the Ixus 110 IS' advantage over the Ixus 980 IS is its HD video-recording feature which some users may find useful.
