How can I press numbers during a call with a touchscreen phone?

May 23, 2009

Question on Mobile Phones:

In a touchscreen-only phone (no physical keypad), after starting a call using the touch menu and halfway through, if I need to press some numbers, how can I do it? Which touchscreen phones have this feature?

Most, if not all, touchscreen phones should support that. Some handsets have built-in proximity sensors that blank out the display when the device is close to your ear. But once you bring the phone away from your ear, the screen will be activated again. In most cases, there should be a "keypad" icon or button which you can tap to bring up the numeric dial pad. It works the same as a physical keypad, only in a touchscreen phone, there's one additional step to activate the dial pad.
