Question on Mobile Phones:

I am confused as to which phone to choose. The N95 (not 8GB model) and the N82 seem pretty similar. Which one is better? Please help.

Even though the Nokia N95 and the N82 have very similar specifications, there are still some differences between both. The most obvious of which is their form factors. The N82 also has a smaller 2.4-inch screen compared to the N95. It also comes with a Xenon flash for the camera, which is not found on the N95. So if you don't mind the smaller screen and tiny keys, the N82 might be a better choice.

Hands on with N82, I didn't like the keypad at all. :(

Think it is important for anyone buying to do a hands on and navigate the menus, do a trial sms, etc.

As the person above said, try out both to get a feel of the keypads. And as Damian said, the n82 has a smaller keypad (I also found the keys to be a bit stiff due to the 'vertical' design) and a smaller screen. It is newer, thus better integration with Nokia software (which are free downloads & the periodic firmware upgrades have brought the n95 up-to speed).

Due to the position of the antena the n82 has better gps performance (faster lock times) over the n95 - if thats something you care about.

The n82's camera is supposed to be the bench mark for the industry, but the xenon flash tends to have an adverse effect on the pics in light (tend to be over-exposed. See gsm-areana's head-head comparisns).

But since its been on the market for much longer, you should be able to get the n95 for a lesser price which may help you seal the deal.

Im not sure about the battery performance of the 2. The n95 when it came out was horrific, but the firmware updates have improved that quite a bit.

Play with both and go for what you think suits your needs better! :)
