Question on Home Entertainment:
I'm from India and am looking to buy a 42-inch plasma TV. I've been given to believe that Panasonic is the leader in plasmas. The Viera model (I think it was the TH-42PV7HS) I looked at was for Rs75,000. I also looked at Samsung's 4 Series 42-inch plasmas and it has two models for Rs53,000 and Rs61,000.The price difference is quite a lot. Is the Panasonic worthy of such a price difference? Could you please let me know which one I should go for or if there is some other brand I should be looking at? Please also let me know if I'm correct in assessing that plasma is better than LCD overall?

Plasma is generally better than LCDs for black levels and color saturation. However, the smaller 42-inch plasmas have lower 1,024 x 768-pixel resolution compared to the LCDs with HD-ready 1,366 x 768. Having said that, the extra resolution is quite insignificant for such screen sizes.
