Getting online on an iPod touch

Jun 9, 2008

Question on Music & Play:

Can my iPod touch (16GB) go online if I hook it to my computer when there is no Wi-Fi network in the vicinity?

The question I have for you is: Why bother? If you have an Internet connection on your computer, why would you want to use the browser on your iPod touch?

Anyway, the answer is no. If you are going to get online with your iPod touch, it has to be through Wi-Fi. That's the official way to do it.

If you don't have a wireless router, you can consider getting a Wi-Fi card for your PC or a USB Wi-Fi dongle as a workaround. That will allow you to set up a wireless network just for your iPod touch.

Got a question of your own?
