My SDHC card cannot be read. What's the problem?

Apr 29, 2008

Question on Digicams:

I just bought a camera recently and it came with a SDHC card. I tried to plug the card into my card reader but it cannot be detected. However, it worked fine for other cards. What could be the problem?

You may want to check if your card reader supports SDHC cards. While SDHC cards look identical to the standard SD cards, they are actually improved versions of the SD media and they typically come in higher capacities (usually 4GB or larger). As such, some of the older flash memory card readers cannot detect SDHC cards.
