What are the key differences between the Samsung i600 and i780?

The biggest difference between the two handsets you have listed is the display, and thus the operating system, too. The i780 uses a touchscreen display, and thus comes with Windows Mobile 6 (WM6) Professional. The i600 doesn't have a touchscreen and so comes with WM6 Standard.

If you want to compare features, the i600 also lacks GPS compared to the i780.

So, even though they look very similar, there are quite a few differences when you are using them. Decide if you need the touchscreen and GPS capabilities if you are choosing between the two.
