I can't decide whether to get an iPod or a PSP.

Apr 6, 2008

Question on Music & Play:

I've been thinking of getting either an iPod classic or a PSP because I'm limited by my budget. I asked my friends for advice but I'm not getting anywhere.

Personally, I don't play games much. Music and video are what I'm interested in. I was told that the PSP offers better graphics performance (with its big screen) but the iPod is more handy in terms of size. I understand that the battery life of the iPod is way better than the PSP's.

So my question is, which device offers better value for money?

It's a little odd that you are choosing between those two. The iPod classic has either 80GB or 160GB capacities whereas for the PSP, you are limited by how large a Memory Stick Pro DUO you can get--currently maxed out at 16GB. The iPod definitely has the upper hand if you are thinking of storing your entire music library and some movies.

The PSP has the advantage of having a much larger display, but you are right, it comes with the drawback of poorer battery life.

So, if you are looking at value for money, it's hard to say. If you play games, then the PSP will definitely be the way to go, but since you don't, I'd have to say that the iPod classic has a slight edge in meeting your requirements.
