Hitachi 50pd9800ta

Aug 27, 2007

Question on Home Entertainment:

I am seeking to understand the difference in picture quality I will have running a PS3/Blu-ray player on the Hitachi 9800 plasma compared with a full-HD LCD screen. Willl there be a visible difference in the quality? I am confused as to whether its claim of 1080p ability is true or not.

If you are planning to game, there could be a high chance you will observe jagged edges due to the 9800's lower resolution. That said, the difference is near-negligible when it comes to Blu-ray movie playback.

As for 1080p, this model does accept such high-quality video feed but this is downscaled to fit its native 1,024 x 1,080-pixel resolution.
