Singapore-based company has unveiled a video jukebox dubbed ZiiEagle. While the product name provides little hint of its capability, the ZiiEagle is supposed to be a movie box preloaded with 668 Shaw Brothers Chinese films. The collection includes The Kingdom and the Beauty and One-Armed Swordsman, which should appeal to classic movie buffs, as well as retirees. Included in the package are also around 200 titles not released on DVDs and TV.

The ZiiEagle is powered by Creative's ZMS-05 HD media-rich applications processor offering 720p HDMI video output and a slew of user-friendly features. Most noteworthy are its Dreamscape One-Touch Play to select and play a random movie from each specific genre of titles and Dream List for hassle-free movie playlist browsing. That said, the ZiiEagle (bundled with a ZiiEagle moviepedia book) will cost a whopping S$1,070 (US$859.71). At this price, I would personally prefer a selection of up-to-date Hollywood and Hong Kong flicks.
Nonetheless, it's a good option for fans of Shaw Brothers production, and is available from Creative's online store.

Perhaps Mr Sim is a buff... hence he wanna sell it so that he can buy it for himself - for nostalgic reasons...zzz.. Anyway, I have no idea how they do their market research, or what sort of ROI they're expecting. I'm speculating here, perhaps they are considering along the lines of filial piety.. the younger working generation who will be buying these for their old folks at home..
Another case of a Singapore company with so much potential but running it to the ground with STUPID decisions. The Zii chip was your saviour Creative! When you announced the Zii chip, I and many others thought... well that's a real great move and it looks like Creative is finally getting their stuff together. That 3DLABs acquisition was looking like a fantastic investment and I am sure many were starting to track your stocks again. Then you show us how utterly STUPID a company you have become by releasing products like this. Seriously, you don't need to be an Apple wannabe, but at the very least SACK ALL of your current heads and bring in some good talent to run your company or 10 years from now people are going to be saying Sim Woon WHO??
So what is creative selling Shaw Brothers OLD movies or the HD media device. Who are you trying to sell this device to ? OLD people how many old people are tech survey to operate it (no offence to older people what I meant is that creative with this product totally cannot address young techies with this lame product.) And for $1070 WOW I dont think all of the movies Shaw brothers made were blockbusters there quite a few lemons that users are forced to buy as a bundle like a entire lifetime collections of CDs Please !!! Creative you are so behind the times !! Look at itunes it gives people the choice to buy one song or one movie or the entire album if it is worth while You dont see Apple forcing the customer to buy ALL of michael jacksons albums. to get michael jacksons song. And lastly what with your stupid digital rights management look what Apple it did away with DRM it has to take it out as users want to be able to view their content on various devices not just at home TV, maybe on grandpa iphone while he is on the road. I would be intrested in seeing how many units Creative sells. HEY Creative call me , I be your product consultant !! You seems to be hiring non creative people to drive your product division. I was at the changi airport and the dad wanted to get an MP3 player for the little indian girl, the sales guy tries to pitch a cheap colourful creative .. and she says I want and ipod. And I was at indian and creative product like lalong sale and the product has so many dust on it. Poor product, poor marketing creative you are so out of the it . Hey call me I tell you what to do for tablet.
