The long-rumored N95 finally made its debut at today's Nokia product launch held in Manila, the Philippines. Possibly the most feature-packed Nokia handset to date, the N95 is the first of the N-series phones to incorporate a built-in GPS (Global Positioning System), 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens, HSDPA (also commonly referred to as 3.5G) as well as a unique two-way sliding mechanism. Combined with Wi-Fi, 3G, VGA video capture and Nokia's Series 60 Symbian platform, the N95 is certainly close to being the ultimate toy for the tech geek.
Unfortunately, if you are planning to get this phone for Christmas, tough luck. The N95 is expected to launch only in the first quarter of 2007. Also unveiled at the Manila event are three other N-series handsets, the N91 with a bigger 8GB hard drive as well as the new music editions of the N70 and N73. Click here for the full coverage.
The iTV may have wowed attendees at Apple's recent press event in San Francisco, but Netgear's EVA700 media streamer is expected to be available sooner.
If you are sick and tired of looking suspicious when the glow of the PC monitor is all that illuminates your body in a darken room, then it's time to move your night-time screen out of your bedroom and into your living room. The EVA700 streams multimedia content from the PC, network storage drives and USB devices right to your big-screen TV. It is compatible with most common video and audio formats, which can be sent via the Ethernet port and played through the RCA connectors, S-video port or a SCART connector. It is due in stores for the end-of-the-year holiday spree and expected to cost around US$269 (S$426.73).
Wireless laser mice are a dime a dozen. But Iogear's mouse not only kills virtual enemies, it zaps away deadly bacteria as well.
From washing machines to handphones, silver ion technology is hitting the peripheral world as well. The 1,600dpi Germ Free Wireless Laser Mouse is coated with a titanium dioxide and silver nano particle compound which prevent bacteria, virus, fungi and algae from thriving after countless hours of clicking. With an operating range of 2m, this Iogear mouse is compatible with Windows and Mac machines. It also comes with, according to the product Web page, a "solid three-year warranty", which should rest the minds of users who might be wary of empty promises.
On the other hand, carpel tunnel syndrome (CTS) sufferers may find relief with the WoW-Mouse. Shaped like a pen and handled like one, too, this wireless mouse is also coated with an anti-bacteria silver ion protective layer. Created by INNO Design in Palo Alto, California, this mouse is only compatible with Windows and Mac users will have to contend with physiotherapy instead for their CTS problems.
