No home for homebrew?

Edvarcl Heng  |  Dec 01, 2005

The PSP is now, thanks to Sony (and homebrewers), one of the most capable portable devices on the market. Hell, it's got the greatest games, a fabulous screen and an ever-increasing spiel of features that would really make the Xbox spin 360.

Stay-at-homers in China are already rubbing their hands in glee. "At last, the bleeding thing reads Chinese." There're rumors of a rise in green eye (envy) among Mongolian PSP owners. With streaming content via RSS, it has possibly opened the dam for a new river of opportunities for PSP exploiters. Sharing unprotected WMAs via RSS? Sony may just blow its top. Then again, the update could be so filled with rootkits that we would blow ours. More info here

Forever Flashlight

Juniper Foo  |  Dec 01, 2005

Why is it that in just about every thriller or scary movie, the protagonist will always be left holding a torch that flickers, and then (gasp) dies, leaving everyone in pitch-black darkness? Clearly, no one's heard of packing along a battery-less flashlight. The Forever Flashlight looks flashy enough and is one emergency light that'll never fail you. All that's required is a strong right arm to shake the torch a good 30 seconds. This recharges the capacitor sufficiently to provide about 5 minutes of illumination. Not much, but better than getting the willies imagining the worst in the dark.
