Nearly everyone with a notebook's packing one of these portable mice with retractable cables these days. But the pocket rodents here go one step further, retracting turtle-style into the bottom half of their housing. Only in Japan, folks.
Oh boy. What the nipple mouse did for the ThinkPad, we're betting the orbiTouch will do for keyboards. In a very tactile fashion, the user grasps the two domes on the orbiTouch and slides the left and right mounts (mahjong style) into one of eight respective (keyboard) positions. The movements create letters and numbers which Keybowl claims takes just a few hours to master. There's even an integrated mouse, though this particular rodent is hidden so well we haven't figured out where it's situated just from the pictures. The makers also claim the unique design helps avoid carpel tunnel syndrome. Though at US$399 a pop, it's hard to tell which will hurt less--your wallet or your wrist.

Wanna watch TV on your laptop? Seems Compro has granted this particular wish for those who do. Claiming to be the world's smallest USB 2.0 analog TV Box, its VideoMate U880 could easily be mistaken for a USB thumbdrive. What it is really is a full-featured TV card packed into a wallet-friendly "stick", which even draws on USB bus power so no external mains are required. Naturally, there are some tradeoffs such as fewer audio and video input/output features. But if reception quality comes through, who's complaining?
