What's new with the Apple Magic Mouse

Along with a redesign of the iMac, MacBook, and Mac Mini, Apple also unveiled its new Magic Mouse, a departure from the underwhelming Mighty Mouse Wireless that flew beneath the consumer radar back in 2006. The new Magic Mouse is also the next device (after the iPod touch, and MacBook Pro) in line to receive a dose of multitouch capability.

Lenovo Enhanced Experience runs Windows 7 faster

Microsoft claims that Windows 7 runs significantly faster than its predecessor, Vista. However, Lenovo is taking it one step further by becoming the only vendor to receive Microsoft's Windows 7 Enhanced Experience certification which promises even faster bootup/shutdown and resume times than other manufacturers.

A PlayStation 3 laptop mod

The original PlayStation 3 was one huge machine and modding it into a laptop was probably unsuitable. But when the smaller PS3 Slim came about, Ben Heck, an amateur modder, decided this was the right time to change his gaming console into a portable.

Granted you'll probably need a large backpack to transport the unit, and it does not sport a battery pack. Nonetheless, it is impressive how he managed to integrate an HD-ready 17-inch display into the gaming console. Heck claims he could have made it smaller but wanted to keep the screen size usable. New Dell Adamo XPS opens using heat sensor

The Round Rock-based computer company is certainly milking its marketing worth out of the new Adamo XPS ultraslim laptop. After first unveiling it briefly at a recent press event and capturing the attention of the industry with its 9.99mm-thin chassis, Dell released a couple of side profile shots of the notebook a few days later. Now, the company is offering yet another bit of information about the much-anticipated machine.

Samsung announces Windows 7 laptop lineup

Besides the expected refresh of its existing lineup (X460, R420 and R470), Samsung will unveil the new X420 notebook come October 22. This is the Korean chaebol's first laptop to sport an Intel CULV processor, and it claims to possess an impressive 9-hour battery life. Like its competitors, this ultrathin model does away with an integrated optical drive in favor of a slimmer profile and lighter heft.
