BERLIN, GERMANY--The Voodoo Envy 133 is perhaps the sexiest notebook announced today at the HP Connecting Your World event in Berlin. We know you'll want to see it up close, so here are the pictures that I managed to snap. Read more »
HP laptops are not known to be tough, unlike Panasonic ToughBooks or NEC Versa S9100. Sure, its business models are hardier than the usual consumer fare, but put them out in the field and they'll probably whimper in pain.
But the new HP EliteBook 6930p is so tough, it meets Mil-Spec 810F standards for military work. And, as any CSI fan knows, deleting a file doesn't erase it off entirely. The EliteBook has US Department of Defence-approved deletion software which ensures that once the file is gone, it can never come back.
This machine is one of the first to implement HP's new QuickLook 2 software, which is a Linux-based application that allows emails and other applications to run without having to boot to Windows. Ever take a good look at your MacBook Air and say, "Man, this thing is just too thin and attractive?" Accessory maker Agent 18 would like you to cover up with its new MacBook Air Shield, lest all the unattractive laptops in the coffee shop become jealous.

The shield itself fits around the edges of the lid and also cover most of the bottom of the case. Available in three colors--white, black, and pink--the polycarbonate MacBook Air Shield will run US$49.95 and be available at Apple stores.

But even the tough-as-nails black bento box found it hard to resist the attraction of the widescreen. Lenovo's MacBook Air-killer, the 13.3-inch ThinkPad X300 (pictured right), decided to partner with an WXGA display. If rumors are to be believed, the new generation of Centrino 2 ThinkPads will be following the same trend.

When we first set eyes on the PMP projector, we thought how cool it would be if the same feature could be incorporated into a laptop. Well, ASUS seems to share the same sentiment as it showcased a prototype model with a swiveling projector where a Webcam would have been.
