Now I can understand snazzing up your headphone cable with some beads or lace, but I struggle to think who would wear the one that looks like something you'd pick up off the floor of a Wookieean barber shop, especially considering that they cost 12,600 yen (or US$129)!
Sounds nuts to me, but if you're truly desperate to show off your riches, you can buy a set of Bless/Audio-Technica's headphones here.

Ah, it's funny how rumors get started--and this one is truly back-channel if there ever was a back-channel rumor.
Kotaku is reporting
that a developer at Acclaim, David Perry, wrote this message on his Facebook and
Twitter accounts:
"I hear Sony FINALLY has the PSP 2. And thank goodness, they've removed the
stupid battery-sucking UMD disc drive. I'm excited!"
Now that message is rapidly making its way through the blogosphere. Of
course, it's unclear what it means exactly. As Kotaku says, no one knows if
Perry has seen the new PlayStation Portable or is "just hearing rumors through
the development community".

Q: I'm looking for a good replacement for my obsolete MP3 player, but I'm just tired of seeing the iPod that everyone has. So do you guys have any suggestions for any decent upcoming or already-out MP3 players? Also, can I ask what you guys think of the Samsung P3, the iriver E50, and the Sony Walkman X-Series? Are they worth it, and when are they coming out?--JL, via email
A: Since none of those players are out yet, and we therefore haven't been able to spend any hands-on time with review units, any opinions are preliminary at this point. I did get to spend a little time with the iriver E50 and the Samsung P3, but I only saw the Sony X-Series Walkman under glass, so I don't have any observations on that besides what I wrote in the preview. Currently, Sony isn't releasing much info regarding a sale date, but early summer seems to be a safe bet. Read more »
Nintendo frequently relaunches its products in different colors, a fact we have gotten quite used to. And even before the new DSi makes its way out of Japan, the company has announced new colors. Behold the pink, green and blue DSi gaming handhelds which will be available only in Japan.
Launch dates for Europe (April 3) and Australia (April 2) have also been announced, aside from the April 5 rollout for the US. While the US will get the DSi in black and blue, Europe and Australia will have it in either black or white. As for Asia outside of Japan, Nintendo products are generally not sold directly but through distributors, so we'll have to wait for the announcements from the company's partners for the DSi. Sigh.
Word of a new attempt to impress female gamers showed up Tuesday on Sony's official PlayStation blog. This year, a "lilac"-colored PSP will be released.
At US$199, the console will come in a bundle that includes a Hannah Montana game, episodes from the show, and stickers for an added girly touch. For the same price, Sony will also sell an "Assassins Creed" bundle that includes a black console and other unannounced content.
Lady gamers were peeved last November when a pink "Guitar Hero" controller was released, compliments of the tween band Aly & AJ.
I'm not one to complain about tech products gone girly, but it's unnecessary for companies like Sony to constantly shove pop-star paraphernalia down our throats. A purple PSP coupled with "Assassins Creed" or "God of War" would be a satisfying bundle for girl gamers. I'm not paying US$199 for a purple PSP if I have to be inundated with the likes of Ms. Montana.
