Oh no! Is she on her way to "cell phone elbow?"

While the link between
cell phone use and brain damage is still debatable (personally, I don't want to believe it), another body part may be paying the price for constant connectedness: The elbow.
According to
health reports, doctors have identified a condition called "cell phone elbow," also known as
cubital tunnel syndrome.
It's basically pain in your elbow that results from compression of the ulnar nerve. This nerve problem can come from spending too much time folding the elbow in an unnatural stance, such as when you use the computer in a nonergonomic position or, most commonly, when you hold the phone to your ear. I often do both at the same time.

StarHub, one of three telco operators in Singapore, today announced an application development campaign specifically for the Android platform. This will run from July 1 through to August 15, and is open to both individual developers and organizations.
Four other Conexus Mobile Alliance members--Far EasTone (Taiwan), Indosat Tbk (Indonesia), NTT DoCoMo (Japan) and TrueMove (Thailand)--are expected to pilot similar campaigns in their respective countries. The alliance, which consists of 10 operators, has a combined customer base of approximately 210 million.
According to StarHub, registered developers will gain access to resources that will help them create apps for the Android platform. They may also get support from the operator to help market and monetize the programs, though StarHub didn't offer any more details on the latter. The company said the aim is to boost mobile data usage.
The genre of applications expected to be developed will range from lifestyle to entertainment and security.
The campaign, which also has a contest element, will see the top two entries getting a spotlight in a regional Developer Showcase event in November. According to Conexus, selected developers may also get to have their apps embedded in the Android smartphones carried by member operators of the alliance.
Songs from iTunes synced with a Palm Pre.

An article that appeared on
Apple's support site Tuesday doesn't appear to be directed at any other company in particular--unless you read between the lines.
Titled "iTunes: About unsupported third-party digital media players," the article addresses the claims of "some third parties" that their digital media players are able to sync with iTunes. By "some third parties" they clearly mean "Palm," which has manipulated the new
Pre smartphone to sync with Apple's music software. Palm execs
showed off the iTunes sync feature at last month's D: All Things Digital conference.
