It was just a matter of time before manfacturers offered speaker docks for Walkman phones, just like the ones available for iPods. What we didn’t expect, though, was to find one that looked so good. We're betting most people will want to lay their hands on one.
Spotted at Mobile.brando.com.hk, the globe-shaped dock can be used with the W800i, K750i, W550i, and possibly the recently released W900i. It serves primarily as a stereo speaker system for music playback from the phone. As with most speaker docks, it can also be used for charging and syncing the phone to the PC. A 3.5mm line-in connector is provided to allow users to hook up other music players to the speaker.
For now, it looks like the dock will be available only online and comes in just one color—-the signature Walkman white-orange. Onboard controls include a power button and volume controls. The device is powered by AC power and comes bundled with USB and 3.5mm jack audio cables. Users should note that the speaker dock is not an official Sony Ericsson accessory.
If hot pink wasn’t shocking enough, take a look at these official pictures of the recently announced gold RAZR V3i. While no price has been confirmed yet for the limited-edition handset, the US mobile maker expects the phone to start shipping only in the first quarter of 2006, possibly in time for Valentine's, at Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana (D&G) outlets.
There's more to just the shiny gold finish that makes this V3i a collector's item. According to the press release, the phone will come with a personalized background with screensaver, a tailored sound for powering up and down, an exclusive polyphonic ringtone and a video clip illustrating 20 years of D&G brand history. As further exclusivity, each phone will be individually numbered. Preorders have already started in selected European countries since December 7. More information on its availability for Asia is expected to be released soon.

Just when you thought Motorola had all the colors covered for its RAZR clamshells, the US-based mobile maker has unveiled yet another hue--in gold metallic finish this time--for the upcoming V3i. Partnering with fashion label Dolce & Gabbana (D&G), Motorola will be releasing only 1,000 units of the limited-edition gold Razr V3i in D&G boutiques worldwide.
Modeled after the original V3, the V3i offers the same sleek form factor and cool metallic finish that have made the RAZR one of the hottest handsets in the market today. Features include quadband GSM technology, Bluetooth connecitivity, an upgraded 1.23-megapixel camera, microSD memory slot and MPEG-4 video capture. The V3i is expected to come with either iTunes music software or Motorola's Digital Audio Music Player. Unfortunately, the mobile manufacturer was unable to provide price or availability details. Nor were official images for the gold RAZR available at press time.

Over the past weekend, mobile operator StarHub, together with Nokia, HP and Medicorp, announced the launch of Visual Radio in Singapore. For those not familiar with this new service, Visual Radio provides an interactive form of radio listening where users can not only get information and trivia on the music and artist, but also vote for their favorite songs and even participate in related contests.
To access the service, mobile users have to subscribe to a data plan and use one of the Visual Radio-enabled handsets, including the Nokia 6111, N70, 7710, 6230i and 3230. The only radio frequency currently available with Visual Radio is FM 98.7 but more stations are expected to be added in the future.
