Consumer Electronics Show is back!

What better way to start a new year than to get ourselves immersed in the coolest and greatest of tech toys? With 2,500 exhibitors participating in the 2006 show, there is bound to be something for everyone.

Held at Innovations Plus at the Sands Expo and Convention Center, Las Vegas, the four-day event starting Thursday is posed to attract an estimated 13,000 attendees worldwide. Media Center PC at its best!

This is one diminutive PC that rivals the critically acclaimed Macs. The brainchild of the Korea manufacturer Lluon, the Little Lluon weighs in at a featherlight 2.1kg and takes up as little as 212.4 x 58mm of shelf space.

Kudos to the Koreans for packing a full-featured Media Center PC into the little wonder box. You will get a fast laptop-based AMD processor, a 100GB of hard drive space and a 4-in-1 card reader plus options for TV tuner and Wi-Fi B/G upgrades.

What's more, you get an all-digital DVI, S-video and digital audio output for the best visual and audio experience with your home entertainment system. It is a shame the Little Lluon is currently available only in Korea.

Xbox 360 to launch on March 2 in Asia

The launch date for Asia is finally confirmed. Microsoft has announced that it will be launching the Xbox 360 in selected Asian countries on March 2 next year. An estimated 15 software titles will be available during launch, including the much-awaited Project Gotham Racing 3, Project Dark Zero and Kameo. The full range of optional accessories, from a 20GB hard drive and headset to wireless controller and networking adapter, will also be unveiled.

While prices will be released only in January 2006, a Samsung spokesperson has revealed that there will be sets of Xbox 360 bundled with a Samsung High-Def TV during launch. Only 360 sets of this special bundle will be available.

Panasonic PT-AE900 has landed

Compared to its predecessor, the new projector received a two-fold upgrade in contrast ratio to a high 5,500:1 while brightness is boosted from 1,000 to 1,100 ANSI lumens.

Enabling this amazing feat is a refined Dynamic Iris featuring scene-tracking capability which performs real-time, frame-by-frame analysis of brightness for reproducing richer bright scenes and deeper shadow details.

The new PT-AE900 is now available for sale in Singapore at S$3,000 (US$1,773).
