Are you willing to wear 3D glasses in your living room?
The Blu-ray Disc Association has started looking to officially integrate 3D technology with the Blu-ray standard, according to a report by Video Business. While Blu-ray already trumps standard DVD in image quality, many consumers don't feel the improvement is large enough to justify the extra cost; 3D would presumably be another reason to ditch DVDs for Blu-ray Discs.

Alleged spy shots of a new, slimmed down PS3 continue to attract attention.
(Credit: Engadget)
Engadget is reporting that its Japanese site received a cease-and-desist notice from a "mysterious Chinese firm" demanding that it take down images of what may--or may not be--a new, slimmer version of Sony's PS3 game console.
Engadget didn't name the firm, but if such a company really exists--and it did send out a real cease-and-desist letter--it would lend some credence to the possibility that the photos are real. Imagine an HDTV that is half the thickness of your finger. Hailed as the world's thinnest 42- and 47-inch LCD panels, the upcoming LG LED TVs set a new benchmark with a 5.9mm-thin bezel. Having said that, it's unclear whether they will utilize an external A/V media box to help shed the extra kilos.

But most crucially, it was also the year that New York's most terrifying ghosts were banished by a team of freelance scientists.
Now, some 25 years later, we're being given the chance to once again see Ghostbusters, one of the best movies of all time. This time though, it's being shown in 1080p and comes on a little plastic disc. Frankly, we couldn't be more excited about this movie arriving in HD on Blu-ray--it's one of those films that stands the test of time through fantastic casting, terrific props and a liberal dose of humor.
