Ugh. Another day, another Palm Pre rumor.
The latest one comes from the Boy Genius Report and adds more fuel to the fire that the Pre will launch on or around June 7. An "anonymous tipster" sent BGR an internal Palm memo that outlines a schedule of events around the Pre for employees starting on June 3 and ending with a "LAUNCH LUNCH!" on June 5 at noon.
As Engadget Mobile points out, there could be several scenarios to come out of this: 1) It could all be prep for a June 7 release, which would keep with Sprint's habit of launching new products on Sundays; 2) Sprint could break its own tradition and release it on Friday, June 5 (better for weekend sales, right?); or 3) It's all a bunch of crock. As Engadget Mobile astutely points out, the "Employee Benfits" typo is a bit of a red flag.

Looks like Vodafone isn't the only carrier getting the HTC Magic. Japan has just received one of its own, a DoCoMo version known as the HT-03A. Plus, it will have Android's new 1.5 Cupcake update already installed on it.
Like we reported at GSMA earlier this year, the HTC Magic has a 3.2-inch HVGA touch screen, a trackball navigator, a 3.2-megapixel camera, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Android's Webkit HTML browser.
Right now the GSM version is only available in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, and Italy. No word on pricing just yet, though. Still, this does mean that the HTC Magic is slowly spreading its wings and might mean it will arrive in more countries in the future too.

Finally, the moment all T-Mobile G1 owners have been waiting for! T-Mobile announced on Wednesday that it will start rolling out the official Android 1.5 (aka "Cupcake") update to G1 users starting at the end of next week. The update will be delivered over the air in random batches over the next several weeks, and T-Mobile expects to reach all G1 customers by the end of May.
Android 1.5 will bring a number of user interface improvements, better performance, as well as new features, such as an onscreen full QWERTY keyboard, video recording and playback, and stereo Bluetooth support. For a full list of features and an FAQ, check out T-Mobile's forum page.
We're anxiously awaiting our own Cupcake, and we'll update our full review of the T-Mobile G1 soon after. G1 owners, once you receive your Android 1.5 update, we'd also love to hear about your experiences as well. In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts about the news below.

We first heard about the HTC Hero when the company's 2009 lineup was leaked. Code Android, a developer site, got its hands on some live images of the device. From the pictures, the Hero looks quite angular and sports the same upturned "lip" at the base where the buttons sit.
The Hero looks like it has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The photos look like they were taken using a mobile phone camera and are a little fuzzy. Even then, you can roughly make out the shape of a dedicated audio connector on the top of the device, which is a missing element in most HTC phones. This will be a welcomed feature for those who like using their handsets as MP3 players since plugging in a regular set of headphones will be possible.
There are few other details at this point but we're pretty sure it will rear its head again in the days leading up to any official announcement from HTC.

Is this supposed to show how simple uploading photos to Facebook can be on the Pre, and how there will be shiny happy people laughing? Everyone around love them, love them...

We've already seen Palm and Apple clash when it comes to print advertisements, but now details of what could be the first Pre TV advertisement have leaked. Photographer and film maker Jaime Gonzalez had been tweeting (of which has mysteriously disappeared) about his part in filming the commercial in Los Angeles, and even uploaded a photo of the massive Facebook set involved.
The tweet came from Mr. Gonzalez yesterday evening while at the Warner Bros. film studio, saying the following:
Back at Warner Bros! Palm Pre in the house...It's the iPhone for chicks! LOL
Okay, being a "chick" myself, I really don't know what exactly he's alluding to with that last part and I'm not going to even speculate 'cause I'm-a go all types of crazy...relax, I'm not that chick.
