Here's a bit of refreshing news from HP. Its iPaq 912 Business Messenger handheld will go on sale starting tomorrow in Singapore, a few days ahead of the company's original September target. Granted, being a few days early is scant consolation considering we've waited almost a year for it, but at least it's better than the usual "product xxx has been delayed" kind of news we are accustomed to.
Why tomorrow, you ask? It's the start of COMEX, an annual IT bazaar happening in Singapore which is an important sales generator for many consumer technology companies in the country. We will find out how much the MNC will be selling it for tomorrow, so look out for that in our special COMEX buying guide.
HP has also yet to get back to us on the iPaq's wider Asia-Pacific availability. We will update when we get more information.

The Touch Pro is HTC's latest flagship product and will appeal to those using the TyTN II. It comes with all the features you find on the Touch Diamond including a VGA display, the TouchFLO 3D interface, and all the connectivity options you'd expect in a high-end HSDPA handheld. Additionally, it includes a slide-out keyboard and a whopping 288MB of RAM. We have done a First Looks video of the device, so check that out.
While many of us may have already heard of the Touch Pro from its Europe launch some time back, the HTC S740 (pictured here) may not be so familiar. This 3.5G device is a follow-up to the S730 smart phone and, like that model, comes with a numeric keypad under the screen plus a slide-out QWERTY keypad. Though it's a non-touchscreen device, you can see the company has taken some design cues from its Touch line of products. We spent some time with this smart phone--click here for detailed specifications and our first impressions of the mobile. The S740 will be available later in the year at a yet undisclosed price.
At a press event in Singapore today, RIM announced its latest 3G BlackBerry device, the Bold for the island-state. This is not its first appearance in Asia as the Bold has already been announced in markets like Hong Kong and Australia. The company expects the Bold to be available in Singapore from late September. As with all BlackBerry devices, price and exact availability are determined by the operators, so check with your provider for more details on that.
We managed to get a few days with the device before today's event and experienced first-hand why they decided to name it "Bold".
