Hopefully, we'll get an Asia release date shortly after the Japanese launch.

The lack of a hard release date--or even projected timeframe--has been a bit of a sore spot for Gran Turismo fans when comparing GT5 to Forza Motorsport 3. Well, those days are almost over, as Sony has finally announced the next installment in Polyphony Digital's Gran Turismo racing series will go on sale in March 2010. However, that is specifically the Japanese release date, leaving us in the dark as to whether we will get an Asia release or if we'll have to wait a bit longer.

With a sleek new form factor and internal memory instead of an optical UMD drive, Sony's new PSPgo handheld gaming console is a very different animal than the original PlayStation Portable. Naturally, dedicated mobile gamers have been asking what, if anything, could they do with their collections of UMD game and movie discs if they upgrade to the PSPgo.
After initially hinting that current UMD games could be either converted for use on the SSD/Memory Stick-only PSPgo, or physically traded in for a digital download version of the same game, Sony now says that's not in the cards.

This is the way Wii Sports Resort should have been packaged in the first place. (Credit: Nintendo)
Now that the Nintendo Wii is US$199, there are two ways to go about using your savings: Putting it in a low-risk bank account, or buying the rest of the peripherals Nintendo wants you to have to complete your
Wii experience. Wii Fit notwithstanding, the biggest new plug-in Nintendo has is Wii MotionPlus, the motion sensor enhancement that plugs into the back of every Wii remote. And, sadly, they're still not included with the Nintendo Wii.
In an attempt to make amends, Wii Sports Resort is now selling a US$59.99 bundle that includes two MotionPlus accessories instead of just one. It's a US$10 savings over getting the US$49.99 Wii Sports Resort and a second US$19.99 MotionPlus separately. Honestly, it's a wise investment if you're going to buy Wii Sports Resort, since many of the games are two-player and require two MotionPlus accessories anyway. Read more »
On Thursday, Microsoft noted that nearly all of the big names in video games are working on titles that take advantage of the motion sensing technology. (Credit: CNET)
Microsoft has been pretty quiet about its Project Natal since showing off the motion-capture technology at E3 earlier this year.
However, a lot has been going on behind the scenes, particularly in getting developers to build games that can take advantage of the technology, which lets a player control a game with their body as opposed to a joystick. In an announcement at the Tokyo Game Show on Thursday, Microsoft noted that nearly all of the big names in video games are working on Natal titles.

A clever press pitch crossed our desk recently that takes interest in music and rhythm video games and uses them to push the age-old business of selling sheet music.
Sheet Music Plus sells sheet music and songbooks for guitar, piano, and other instruments, and in a recent press release, ties that into the popularity of The Beatles: Rock Band and similar games, saying, "As music-driven video games continue to explode in popularity," the company aims to "help gamers channel their passion into becoming active musicians".
Being musically minded, that sounds like a laudable goal, but surprisingly, the Web site doesn't have a Rock Band/Guitar Hero tab or section. We searched for a few random songs from Guitar Hero 5 (AC/DC's Jailbreak and David Bowie's Fame) and the Beatles: Rock Band (Hey Bulldog), and found multiple versions of each, ranging from complete multi-instrument scores to "easy" guitar chord books. Many examples of guitar/voice sheet music for a single song are US$3.95, but most of the songs we checked are only available in larger collections that usually cost US$20-30. Read more »
