Keyboard Food Tray

Juniper Foo  |  Jul 21, 2006

Blog site Snag Daily's got a point. That is, this seems like a good idea, until you forget it's there and lift your hands up. And if you have a steaming cuppa Java on it... Ooh boy. Still, a nice idea by designer Duck Young Kong whom we're guessing is either a desktop-chained Dilbert, or someone seriously seeking real estate space amid the office clutter.

VoIP Coin Payphone

Juniper Foo  |  Jul 18, 2006

Yet another phone kiosk from Taiwan's Tonga Telecommunication Industry that's anything but run-of-the-mill. This one should stretch those coins you've fed into the box, thanks to the calls being made over VoIP. A pity, though, that this little phone terminal isn't geared for video calls.

WiFi Pay Terminal

Juniper Foo  |  Jul 14, 2006

We thought we'd seen it all in Japan, but the Taiwanese aren't letting their neighbors enjoy all the fun. Enter the WiFi Pay Terminal by Tongya Telecommunication Industry. What gives this payphone away are the two Martian antennas sticking out on top. That plus the dearth of numerical keys. The future may be contained in this little phone box. But it's still the good, old-fashioned mode of payment where you have to beg, borrow or steal sufficient coins to make that call.

LG Finger Mouse

Juniper Foo  |  Jul 13, 2006

Anything that tiny isn't going to be good news, ergonomically speaking, for your carpel tunnel. But this has to be one of the coolest portable optical mice we've come across. As the name indicates, this metallic rodent is finger-width broad. Which also means relearning its use since the top part now acts as a left mouse button, the bottom functions as the right mouse button, and the scroll wheel sits awkwardly (particularly for lefties) on the right side. Go finger, er, figure.

Mosquito Magnet Defender

Juniper Foo  |  Jul 12, 2006

It's all out war against the mossies with the Mosquito Magnet Defender designed for the homeowner held prisoner by a garden full of bloodsuckers. This device claims to mimic the human respiration by converting liquid petroleum gas to CO2 with a patented short-range attractant called Lurex. Think of it as pheromones for the Asian tiger mosquito, the much-feared Aedes Albopictus known to spread dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever. This silent assassin ain't cheap by half, but for peace of mind, it could well be priceless. Augment with the fun-filled Flygun.

Availability: Price good till end-September in Singapore, selected outlets
