Samsung mSWV+ tech for wide-angle mobile viewing

Juniper Foo  |  Apr 06, 2005

Samsung's about to add another acronym to the confusing alphabet soup of LCD technology. But it's a good one this time. mSWV+, which stands for Mobile Super Wide View+, utilizes the company's own PVA technology to enhance off-axis image quality on displays under 10 inches. What this really really means is handphone displays are set to become even more brilliant. Ultra-sharp images will be viewable at 160-degree angles, even in low light or bright sunlight. No more surfing the Web or videoconferencing on screens that give you eyestrain or a throbbing headache. No word yet on when this breakthrough technology will reach us.
