Data bundle has been upped to 12GB for the iFlexi Lite, Value and Plus plans with unlimited data for iFlexi Premium.
Excess data charges are now capped at S$30.
Handset prices have been reduced, matching M1's.
All current iFlexi customers, not just new signups, will benefit from the changes.
A S$20 daily flat rate roaming plan in seven countries (Australia, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and the Philippines) to cater to those who like to use data while roaming.
Almost immediately, M1 responded by increasing its data bundle to 12GB from 10GB. At the same time, both StarHub and M1 reduced their excess data maximum charge to S$30 from S$48 and S$36.38, respectively. (Update: We originally stated that M1's excess data cap was unchanged from Monday but in fact, it was reduced to match SingTel's). As of now, the tariffs from the three operators appear quite identical with slight differences in the details.

We're pretty sure it's not a coincidence, but MobileOne (M1) and StarHub have finally announced that they will offer the iPhone this Wednesday on December 9, along with new 3G price plans. What's worth noting is that M1 is offering 10GB of free bundled data for its cheapest plan, compared with 1GB on StarHub and 500MB on SingTel. Data usage is capped at S$36.38 on M1 and S$48 on StarHub. (Update: StarHub has since revised its data bundle to 12GB.) SingTel, on the other hand, doesn't have a cost limit for its data usage and instead charges excess data at $0.0054 for every 2KB. Going by the listed prices, it seems that M1 has the best deal for the iPhone. We've compiled the iPhone plans and prices from the three telcos below. Read more »
Apple has rolled out yet another update for the iPhone--version 3.1.2. The 241.7MB patch can be downloaded from iTunes and is compatible with all three flavors of iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS.
According to the company, the software update fixes a "sporadic issue" where the iPhone fails to wake up from sleep mode. It also resolves an "intermittent issue" that may interrupt the cellular network until the phone is restarted, as well as a bug that could crash the device during video streaming.
A jailbroken iPhone can do a lot more than what Apple wants it to do.

The cat and mouse game continues between Apple and the Dev Team, a group of
guys who are passionate about freeing Apple handheld devices from the company's
short leash. The Dev Team has been jailbreaking new Apple firmware for years,
and it just did so again--though this time around it seems Apple is still taking
the decisive lead.
The team announced Friday the
availability of PwnageTool 3.13, which allows for jailbreaking and unlocking
the iPhone
3GS running the latest firmware, version 3.1. Currently only a Mac version
of the tool is available, but the Windows version will be out soon.
The tool creates a custom firmware from the version 3.1 firmware released by
Apple. To install it, you put the phone into recovery mode (turn it off, then
plug it in while holding down the Home button) and use iTunes to restore the
phone with the custom firmware (hold down the Option key while clicking on the
Restore button).

Imagine the entire phonebook and calendar entries on your iPhone 3G disappearing without a trace just before you turn in for the night. Well, that was what happened to my review unit yesterday, and, apparently, I wasn't alone.
A number of iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch users have reported problems synchronizing with Exchange Server 2007 after they upgraded to the more recent OS 3.1. See the discussion thread on the Apple Support forum here. The issue appears to stem from the fact that these devices don't have built-in hardware encryption, unlike the 3GS.
Users may receive the error message, "The account '___' requires encryption which is not supported on this iPhone", and products affected include the first-gen iPhone, iPhone 3G and iPod touch. Read more »
