We used to have digital copy compatible with iPods and Windows Mobile handhelds. Now, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment is extending this option to copy a standard-definition version of the Blu-ray movie to PSP, too. Game portal Joystiq has published an online video to demonstrate the procedure via a PlayStation 3.

This is not exactly the Christmas bundle I mentioned in my crave on the 250GB PS3 for Asia, but it's the closest in terms of a packaged deal. The Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Edition announced in Japan in September will be released in Singapore for a cool S$685 (US$492.77). The above picture of the Ceramic White 250GB kit should give you a pretty good idea of what you're paying for (is the Sony designer a Hello Kitty fan?). This is on top of a Japan edition Final Fantasy XIII valued at a whopping S$133 (US$95.68) and it doesn't even support the English language.
Both the 250GB PS3 and Final Fantasy XIII special editions are due December 17.
That's right. For 120GB PS3 Slim early adopters in Singapore, the latest news from Sony is going to be a hard pill to swallow. At just S$552 (US$397.09), the latest 250GB model more than doubles the built-in hard drive capacity of its predecessor, while offering all the same functions provided by the 120GB kit retailing for S$512 (US$368.32). Sony further clarified that it has no plans to phase out or revise the lower-end system despite the minimal price difference. However, we're also hearing contradictory chatter from the country's game retailers regarding this.
Then there's the possibility that Sony will be launching a special Christmas bundle for these consoles to cash in on the year-end festivities. For gamers sitting on the fence, we suggest that you stay put for a little longer in case there are more surprises better deals in the pipeline.
But if cost is your last concern, the latest 250GB PS3 Slim is now in Singapore and Hong Kong (HK$2,599).

I'm not a fan of see-through speakers, but if you have to impress your tycoon and millionaire business partners, the US$566,000 "The Force" collection from Perfect8 technologies will fit the bill. These exquisite glass boomboxes comprise five floorstanders and a passive subwoofer (The Cube). The former include a pair of life-sized 2m towers (The Force), a center speaker (The Force Center) with height-adjustable midrange and treble drivers, and two surround speakers (The Point) enhanced by flat ribbon drivers. If it’s a simple stereo setup you're interested in, The Force is also available separately for US$149,000.
For this insane amount of cash, Sweden-based Perfect8 technologies is promising nothing short of a perfect musical reproduction according to its Web site. That's a pretty ambitious statement to make, but I guess only the most well-heeled audiophiles will ever know the truth. If the price is not a deterrence, fill up this electronic form here to make an enquiry.
If you're a Facebook addict who simply cannot live without your social network of friends, relatives and colleagues, we've good news for you. It looks like Sony's PlayStation 3 has also caught on the social-networking fever after a lukewarm response to the company's own PlayStation Home. This feature will be rolled out in its upcoming 3.10 firmware upgrade slated for this Thursday. It will be interesting to find out how this function is being implemented, particularly in games, to keep users updated on who is online, new postings, etc. But, I'll be pretty upset if I'm interrupted by a Facebook update popping up smack in the middle of an intense gun fight or race.
